First Norouz Conference of “New Universal Union” held in US
The first annual conference of the “New Universal Union” was held by its Iranian followers on March 26, 2009, from 6 to 11 pm in the Orange County region of Southern California.
The conference began by reading selected sections about Norouz (Persian New Year) written by one of the founders of the NUU, the late scholar Dr. Heshmatollah Doulatshahi, which was delivered in1954. This message contains several suggestions for the expansion of unity and humanity throughout the world.
Mr. Saeed Hatami, a spokesperson for the group, said in analysis of the message: “The New Universal Union invites world intellectuals from all faiths and religions to come to an understanding and agreement on their common ground, which is theism. In sharing their divine thoughts they can attempt to promote the latest scientific discoveries and knowledge in regard to theism and declare their common goals in comprehensive messages. “
Mr. Hatami added: “It is the hope of the New Universal Union, to establish better dialogue between the leaders of various faiths by holding seminars, conferences and other ‘brotherhood’ meetings. As the result of research done on the contents of all Holy Scriptures, these people of knowledge are able to find the best avenue toward well being and salvation of the human race without prejudice.” The next speaker was the US spokesman of the Union who attractively articulated a description of different levels of love which was welcomed enthusiastically by the audience.
Ms. Beth Krom, Irvine city councilperson and former mayor, awarded the City’s Proclamation of Appreciation to New Universal Union.
The audience consisted of Iranian university professors, cultural and community leaders as well as several poets, artists and musicians. Three NUU Board members conducted a question and answer session at the conclusion of the congress. According to the participants and audience it was a very successful and informative event.

The first annual conference (Norouz Conference), of the NUU was held in March 2009 in Orange County with a large number of Iranian professionals and intellectuals participating, in which the organization was awarded a proclamation by the city of Irvine . This recognition by the mayor of Irvine , one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States, was aimed at expanding humanity and unity throughout the world, advocated by the New Universal Union.
Since August of 2006, Mr. Saeed Hatami, the NUU Representative in Southern California, has been teaching the values and beliefs of NUU to Southern Californians residing in different parts of Orange County. The current address of this meeting is, 24232 Calle Arogan, Laguna Wood, Ca, 92637.
Many people from different walks of life, with different religious beliefs and backgrounds including physicians, psychologists, businessmen, poets, artists, etc. attend these weekly meetings. The session begins with a short lecture , on a specific topic and it is concluded with a Q and A session, in accordance with the NUU beliefs.
Mr. Saeed M Shahabpour, the spoke person of the NUU, who resides outside of California , comes to Orange County and delivers speeches on the goal and mission of the organization, with emphasis on love, peace and humanity.
We hope that the activities of the New Universal Union would be expanded globally and that one day all the world religions would share their Anti-war message calling for Universal PEACE
